Gümülcine Mufti Office Women’s Guidance Team hosts Berat Night Program
The event was coordinated by the Adult Women’s Coordination Unit of the Women’s Guidance Team and brought together women from the local community in an atmosphere of prayer, reflection and spiritual unity.
Recitations, Hymns and Reflections
The program opened with a welcoming address by Aliye Salih, Head of the Women’s Guidance Team, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an. Qur’an course instructors Hatice Candan Binbasi and Makbule Nizam then presented hymns, passages from the Mevlid-i Sharif, Qur’anic recitations and their meanings.
Students from the Harmanlik Adult Women’s Qur’an Course also contributed by performing hymns, enriching the spiritual tone of the evening. Preacher and Qur’an course instructor Halime Mehmetali moved participants with her poem titled “Forgiveness”, creating emotionally resonant moments.
Emphasis on the Spiritual Significance of Berat Night
The main address on the meaning and importance of Berat Kandili was delivered by Preacher and Qur’an Course Instructor Hacer Karaali. Describing the night as a harbinger of the holy month of Ramadan, Karaali highlighted its virtues and emphasized the importance of worship, prayer and self-reflection during this blessed occasion.
Following the recitation of short Qur’anic chapters by Saliha Kabaali, the program concluded with a collective prayer led by Nafiye Karaali, also a preacher and Qur’an course instructor.
At the end of the event, dates and traditional kandil simidi were distributed to participants, marking the night with a gesture of hospitality and communal sharing.
