Stricter penalties introduced with new traffic law: Severe measures for drunk drivers

The new Greek Traffic Code (KOK) is set to take effect, introducing hefty fines for serious traffic violations. The revised law aims to enhance deterrence by categorizing violations based on their level of danger.

A Safer Future on Greek Roads
Authorities stress that the new regulations aim to reduce traffic accidents and enhance road safety. Given the high rate of alcohol-related fatalities, officials emphasize that strict penalties are essential for deterrence.
Drivers are urged to comply with the new rules and prioritize safe driving practices to protect themselves and others on the road.
