New Democracy loses 2.5 points in latest Metron Analysis Poll amid political pressure

A new public opinion poll conducted by Metron Analysis for Mega TV shows a notable decline in support for Greece’s ruling party, New Democracy (ND), which has lost 2.5 percentage points compared to the company’s previous survey.

The poll comes in the wake of ongoing developments involving OPEKEPE and a case file sent to parliament by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office concerning nine lawmakers from the ruling party.

Voting Intentions: ND Leads, But Support Weakens
In response to the question, “If elections were held next Sunday, which party would you vote for?”, ND remains in first place with 21.5%.

The center-left PASOK follows with 11.3%, while Course of Freedom ranks third at 7.8%, closely followed by Greek Solution at 7.7%.

Other parties recorded the following support levels:

  • Communist Party of Greece: 6.3%
  • SYRIZA: 4%
  • MeRA25: 2.3%
  • Voice of Reason: 2.6%
  • New Left: 1.8%
  • Niki: 1.4%
  • Spartans: 0.4%

Adjusted Results Show Wider Gap
When undecided voters are redistributed, ND maintains its lead with 28.6%, though still reflecting a 2.5-point drop from the previous month.

PASOK rises to 15% (+1.4), while Greek Solution climbs to 10.2% (+1.3). Course of Freedom records a slight decline to 10.4% (-0.1).

Revised vote estimates are as follows:

  • New Democracy: 28.6% (-2.5)
  • PASOK: 15% (+1.4)
  • Course of Freedom: 10.4% (-0.1)
  • Greek Solution: 10.2% (+1.3)
  • Communist Party of Greece: 8.4% (+0.4)
  • SYRIZA: 5.3% (-0.7)
  • MeRA25: 3.1% (-1.5)
  • Voice of Reason: 3.5% (-0.5)
  • New Left: 2.4% (-0.4)
  • Niki: 1.9%
  • Spartans: 0.5%
  • ANTARSYA: 1.1%

Potential New Political Movements Gain Attention
The survey also explored public sentiment toward potential new political formations.

Regarding a possible new party led by former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, 21% of respondents said they would be “very likely” or “quite likely” to support such an initiative.

Meanwhile, 27% expressed a similar level of support for a potential political movement led by Maria Karistianou.

Political Landscape in Flux
The findings suggest a shifting political landscape in Greece, with declining support for the ruling party and emerging opportunities for both established opposition groups and potential new political actors.

The impact of ongoing legal and political developments is expected to continue shaping voter sentiment in the months ahead.
