Greece's Parliament would be composed of seven parties if elections were held today: Metron
Greece’s parliament would consist of seven political parties if a general election were held today, according to the latest Metron Analysis opinion poll, highlighting the continued fragmentation of the country’s political landscape despite the governing New Democracy party maintaining its lead.
The survey projects that New Democracy (ND) would remain the largest party but would fall 31 seats short of securing an outright parliamentary majority, making it difficult to form a single-party government under the current electoral system.
According to the poll, the current balance of voter support would allow seven parties to enter parliament, reflecting sustained political fragmentation and continued challenges for Greece’s opposition parties in closing the gap with the ruling conservatives.
The findings also suggest that coalition scenarios could once again become a key issue in future government formation should current voting trends persist.
Metron Analysis is one of Greece’s leading polling organizations, and its surveys are widely followed as indicators of public opinion ahead of future elections. However, no national election has been announced, and polling results do not necessarily predict final electoral outcomes.
