Israeli strikes in Lebanon have killed 380 people and wounded more than 1,100 others since a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah took effect on April 17, Lebanese Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine said Tuesday.

Nassereddine said the overall death toll since fighting erupted on March 2 has reached 2,882 people, including 279 women and 200 children.

“Since the ceasefire, 380 people have been killed and 1,122 wounded,” he said.

A Health Ministry official said the post-ceasefire casualties include 39 women and 22 children.

Israel continues airstrikes near border

Under the ceasefire terms announced by Washington, Israel maintains the right to act against what it describes as “planned, imminent or ongoing attacks.”

Israeli forces have continued airstrikes and military operations behind a so-called “yellow line” located around 10 kilometers north of the Israeli-Lebanese border.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry said 108 emergency and healthcare workers have been killed and 249 wounded since the conflict began, while 16 hospitals have suffered damage.

“It’s a massacre,” Nassereddine said, rejecting Israeli accusations that ambulances and medical facilities were being used for military purposes.

Israel has repeatedly accused Hezbollah of using civilian infrastructure, including ambulances and hospitals, for military operations — claims denied by the Iran-backed group.

Conflict linked to regional escalation

Hezbollah entered the regional conflict on March 2 after launching rockets into Israel following the killing of Iran’s supreme leader in joint US-Israeli strikes, according to the group.

Israel responded with extensive airstrikes and a ground offensive in southern Lebanon.

Hezbollah says its fighters are included in the casualty figures released by the Lebanese government.

Beirut urges US pressure ahead of talks

Lebanese leaders on Monday called on the United States to pressure Israel to halt its attacks, which officials say have intensified in recent days.

The appeal comes ahead of a third round of direct talks between Lebanese and Israeli representatives scheduled to take place later this week in Washington.
