Western Thrace Minority Schools Committee Union highlights injustice in recent principal appointments
The statement criticized the process, stating that the election of principals without consulting the elected committee members representing minority parents is unacceptable and undermines long-established practices.
The Union emphasized that the exclusion of these committees, who were elected by hundreds of minority students’ parents, is a violation of their rights and disrespects the established norms. The statement condemned the unilateral decisions and called for collective action to protect these rights. They urged parents and committees to unite in defense of their rights and ensure the best possible education for their children.
The message also conveyed support and encouragement to both students and teachers for the new academic year, highlighting the importance of responsibility, perseverance, and continuous self-improvement in education.
The Union concluded by emphasizing the importance of ensuring that schools are equipped to meet modern educational needs, despite the current economic challenges faced by many families. They reiterated their commitment to providing a high-quality education that prepares students for the future.
