Ozan Ahmetoğlu: “The double standard is before us in all its grandeur!”

Xanthi Turkish Union (ITB) President Ozan Ahmetoğlu reacted to the decision to close Turkish minority schools in Western Thrace by saying “The double standard is before us in all its grandeur".

In his written statement on the subject, Ozan Ahmetoğlu stated that on the one hand, Greece closed the Turkish minority schools in Western Thrace under the pretext of student shortage, and on the other hand, Xanthi Minority Secondary School - High School, which had a building problem due to the overpopulation of students, refused to solve the building problem.

ITB President Ozan Ahmetoğlu said in his statement:

“While Greece is closing the Turkish minority schools in Western Thrace under the pretext of student shortage, on the other hand, it refuses to solve the building problem of Xanthi Minority Secondary School - High School, which has a building problem due to over-student, and keeps Turkish minority students (morning and afternoon) on shifts.

So what's the purpose?

The aim, of course, is to make sure that students who complain about shift education stop choosing the Turkish minority school!

On the one hand, schools with few students are closed, on the other hand, the building problem of the school with many students is left unsolved, and Turkish children are condemned to shift education, which has no other example in the region.

If there are few students in the Turkish minority schools in Western Thrace, it is a problem, if there are many, it is a problem again!

The double standard is before us in all its grandeur!…”
