Karanikolas: There is no room for lax voting because the European elections will decide the country's European course

In Xanthi was the candidate for the European Parliament of the New Democracy, Spyros Karanikolas on Thursday 25 April 2024 in the context of tours in view of the European elections. Specifically, he gave a press conference to the local media at the Z Palace Hotel and then discussed with friends-members of the New Democracy thoughts and concerns regarding the upcoming elections.

Initially, the MEP candidate pointed out that "I want to assure my fellow citizens that if I am chosen as one of the MEPs of New Democracy, I will give all my efforts in order to defend the national-patriotic interests of our country on the Brussels front, but also the interests of all Greeks".

"Brussels is very close to the decisions they take that affect our daily lives. More than 70% of the laws passed by the Greek Parliament are laws that are first passed in the European Parliament and concern all the issues of everyday life of citizens, as well as the critical issues of funding, so there is no room for a lax vote because the European elections will decide the European course of the country," he stressed.

He stressed that what he hopes to do with the power of the citizens is to give his strength to be worthy of the role of a Member of the European Parliament, since he is a representative of the Greek people in the European Parliament. It is therefore his duty to know the problems of the Greek people and then to take them to the European Parliament and demand solutions.
