"Olympic Cooperation 24" military exercise held in Xanthi
The "Olympic Cooperation 24" exercise, involving military units from nine countries, took place in Xanthi, concluding on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Conducted at the Petrohori Tank Firing Range, the exercise's final day was attended by Chief of General Staff General Dimitrios Hupis, Army Commander Lieutenant General Yorgos Kostidis, and other high-ranking officials.
Held between November 11-20, the exercise followed a live field training (LIVEX/FTX) format. Led by Greece, participating nations included Albania, Armenia, Austria, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Jordan, and Cyprus. Observers from the UAE, Italy, India, and Saudi Arabia also attended.
The drills featured defensive and offensive scenarios with live ammunition, aiming to enhance operational readiness, combat capabilities, and collaborative potential among participants while fostering knowledge and experience exchange.
Distinguished attendees on the final day included French Ambassador Laurence Auer, 1st Army Commander Lieutenant General Dimokritos Konstantakos, 4th Corps Commander Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos, and Brigadier General Phillipe Le Carff of France's 7th Armored Brigade, alongside local officials and international military attachés.
The exercise underscores Greece's commitment to strengthening defense cooperation with allied and partner nations.
