Mandatory military registration for new conscripts in Northern Greece
Local authorities in the municipalities of İskeçe, Bulustra and İnhanlı have issued a reminder regarding mandatory military registration for young men born in 2008 and 2009, in accordance with Greek conscription law.
All eligible conscripts are required to submit their Military Registration Form (Conscription Census Bulletin) within the legally defined deadlines during 2026. Failure to comply may result in additional military service.

For in-person registration, the following documents are required:
- National ID card or Greek passport
- Document indicating AFM

Conscripts with serious health conditions are advised to submit relevant medical certificates detailing their condition. For those living abroad without Greek documents, officially issued foreign identification documents are accepted.

Municipal authorities emphasize that declaring a valid email address during registration is mandatory, enabling timely communication regarding conscription obligations and helping avoid penalties or administrative issues.
No physical proof of submission is issued by recruitment offices or consulates. However, conscripts may print confirmation via stratologia.gr, under “Information about my registration.”
Penalties for Non-Compliance
Failure to meet conscription obligations results in additional military service:
- One month for late submission
- Two months for failure to submit before enlistment
- Three months for submission of false information
Further information is available through Military Recruitment Offices, KEP centers, Greek consulates, or via stratologia.gr.
