Porto Lagos (Karaağaç) Port Authority: Artillery firing exercises to take place December 9–11 in the “Petrota” (Taşlık) coastal area
The Karaağaç Port Authority has issued an official announcement regarding scheduled artillery firing exercises targeting sea-based objectives, following notification from the XII Mechanized Infantry Division. The exercises will take place in the “Taşlık” coastal zone on December 9, 10, and 11, 2025. Authorities are urging heightened caution for anyone operating in the surrounding marine area.
Detailed Firing Schedule
Tuesday, December 9, 2025: 08:00 – 23:00
Wednesday, December 10, 2025: 08:00 – 23:00
Thursday, December 11, 2025: 08:00 – 17:00
The drills will cover a wide maritime area defined by specific coordinates marking the boundaries of the firing zone.
Navigation Prohibited
Throughout the entire duration of the exercises, all vessels—regardless of type—are strictly prohibited from navigating within the designated danger area. The ban aims to prevent accidents and ensure maximum safety.
Guidance on Possible Military Material Detection
The Port Authority urges both citizens and maritime professionals to exercise extreme caution. In the event of discovering:
- any type of projectile,
- suspicious devices,
- military equipment or objects,
- individuals must immediately contact the nearest Port or Police Authority and avoid handling the item.
