Şentop pays condolence visit to İbrahim Şerif in Gümülcine
Former Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop visited Western Thrace with a delegation, holding meetings in İskeçe and Gümülcine (Komotini) and paying a condolence visit to Gümülcine (Komotini) Mufti İbrahim Şerif, who recently lost his wife.
Şentop was accompanied by Prof. Dr. Cevat Akşit, Dr. Mehmet Sıddık Akşit and other members of the delegation during his visits and meetings across Western Thrace.
As part of his program, the delegation visited İbrahim Şerif, the Mufti of Gümülcine (Komotini), to offer condolences following the recent death of his wife.
Şentop conveys condolences to İbrahim Şerif
Following the visit, Şentop shared a message on social media describing İbrahim Şerif as a figure who had devoted his life to defending the identity, faith and rights of Western Thrace Turks.
Şentop said Şerif had become one of the symbolic figures of the cause of Turkish identity in Western Thrace through his dignified stance and longstanding struggle.
In his message, Şentop prayed for mercy for Şerif's late wife and expressed his condolences and wishes for patience to İbrahim Şerif, his family and relatives.
Şentop and his delegation left the region after completing their meetings in İskeçe and Gümülcine.
