Özgür Ferhat raises concerns over delays in farmers’ support payments

Özgür Ferhat, a member of the Greek Parliament representing Rhodope, has pledged to intensify efforts with the relevant authorities to address problems affecting farmers’ subsidy applications and prevent producers from losing financial support.

Ferhat met representatives of Agricultural Declaration Reception Centres (KYD) in his office to discuss difficulties encountered during the 2026 Unified Application for Aid (OSDE) process. The meeting focused on technical problems, unresolved applications and their potential impact on agricultural support payments.

According to the representatives, system malfunctions and outstanding administrative procedures have complicated the work of KYD centres and disrupted services provided to farmers.

The difficulties could also increase the risk of delays in subsidy payments or farmers losing access to agricultural support to which they are entitled.

Ferhat pledges further action with authorities
During the meeting, Ferhat briefed KYD representatives on the steps he had already taken to seek solutions to the problems.

He also said he would intensify his efforts with the competent ministries and Greece’s Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) to address the outstanding issues.

Ferhat stressed that the main priorities were to facilitate the work of KYD centres and ensure that farmers receive the agricultural support payments they are entitled to on time.

The discussions come amid concerns over the administrative and technical challenges facing the 2026 application process. No specific timetable for resolving the outstanding problems or figures on the number of affected farmers were provided in the report.
