Minority Primary School Students achieve major success at Rhodope Chess Tournament
The two-day tournament took place on March 7–8, 2026, and was hosted for the first time at Idadiye Turkish Minority Primary School. A total of 140 students from across the Rhodope region competed on the chessboard.
Two Days of Competitive Matches
On Saturday, March 7, primary school students competed in their respective categories, while middle school and high school matches were held on Sunday, March 8.
Among minority schools, Idadiye Turkish Minority Primary School recorded the highest participation with 30 students, highlighting the school’s strong engagement in the competition.
Students from the Kozlukebir Minority Turkish Primary School also took part in the event, representing their school in the regional tournament.
Students Qualify for Regional Championship
Students who placed in the top rankings earned the right to compete at the Regional Inter-School Chess Championship, scheduled to be held on March 21, 2026 in İskeçe.
