Türkiye's Consul General Aykut Ünal meets Turkish minority community in Bratankova
Ünal and his delegation visited the village and attended Friday prayers at the local mosque together with community members.
In a social media post about the visit, the Consulate General of Türkiye in Gümülcine said: “We were guests of our compatriots in the village of Bratankova, İskeçe.”
Mustafa Trampa, President of the Consultative Committee of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of İskeçe, also shared details of the visit.
“Today, we performed our Friday prayers in the beautiful village of Bratankova,” Trampa said, thanking the village residents and religious officials for the invitation. He also expressed his appreciation to Consul General Aykut Ünal for attending the gathering.
Local minority representatives join visit
Ünal was accompanied during his visit by several prominent representatives of the Western Thrace Turkish minority community.
The delegation included Mustafa Trampa, President of the Consultative Committee and Mufti of İskeçe; İskeçe MP Hüseyin Zeybek; Mustafçova Mayor Ahmet Kurt; İskeçe Turkish Union President Kerem Abdurrahimoğlu; and DEB Party Deputy Chairman Bahri Belço.
The visit comes as part of continued engagement between Türkiye's diplomatic representatives in Gümülcine and Turkish minority communities across Western Thrace.
