Ismail Rodoplu to be commemorated on sixth anniversary of death
Ismail Molla Rodoplu, the late former independent MP and longest-serving president of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association (BTAYTD), will be commemorated on the sixth anniversary of his death.
The memorial ceremony will take place on Wednesday, September 2, at 6:30 p.m. at Rodoplu’s grave in the cemetery of Semetli village near Gümülcine.
Ceremony open to the public
According to a statement by BTAYTD, all members of the public are invited to attend the memorial ceremony.
Rodoplu served as president of BTAYTD for many years, making him the association’s longest-serving president. He was also active as an independent parliamentarian and journalist, playing a prominent role in education and community affairs in Western Thrace.
The ceremony will provide an opportunity for relatives, colleagues, community members and supporters to pay tribute to Rodoplu and commemorate his contributions to the Western Thrace Turkish community.
