Opinion poll: Nine in ten Greeks see political responsibility in OPEKEPE scandal

A recent poll by Opinion Poll reveals that an overwhelming majority of Greek citizens—92.8%—believe there are political responsibilities involved in the OPEKEPE agricultural subsidy scandal, with only 5.2% responding "no" or "probably no."
Opinion poll: Nine in ten Greeks see political responsibility in OPEKEPE scandal

A recent poll by Opinion Poll reveals that an overwhelming majority of Greek citizens—92.8%—believe there are political responsibilities involved in the OPEKEPE agricultural subsidy scandal, with only 5.2% responding "no" or "probably no."

When asked who bears the greatest responsibility for the scandal:

51.6% said all involved parties share proportional responsibility
50.3% blamed ministers and political figures
16.9% pointed to OPEKEPE’s administration and employees
15.8% identified party agents and middlemen
10% blamed livestock farmers seeking illegal subsidies
2.4% blamed businesses and technical consultants

Regarding the root causes of illegalities in agricultural subsidies:

47.5% cited all past governments
30.5% blamed the current government
20.4% attributed it to systemic state dysfunction

Public dissatisfaction was also evident in the government’s response:

51.8% were not satisfied with the formation of a special audit team
55.2% disapproved of the promise to recover misused funds
51.6% were unhappy with the integration of OPEKEPE into the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE)

On the political resignations that followed:

88.2% agreed they were politically necessary
55.2% said they were not rushed, while 38.6% felt they were rushed
Among New Democracy (ND) voters: 50.9% said "not rushed", 44.6% said "rushed"

When asked whether snap elections should be held due to the scandal:

49.3% preferred to wait until the end of the government’s term
44.6% called for early elections

Leadership Preference:

"No one" was deemed the most suitable prime minister by 31%
Kyriakos Mitsotakis followed with 27.4%
Zoe Konstantopoulou scored 9.6%
Nikos Androulakis: 7.1%, Kyriakos Velopoulos: 6.1%, Dimitris Koutsoumbas: 3.3%

Voting Intentions:

New Democracy (ND): 24.8%
PASOK: 11.5%
Course of Freedom (Plefsi Eleftherias): 11.4%
Greek Solution (Elliniki Lysi): 8.7%
KKE: 6.6%
SYRIZA: 4.6%
MeRA25: 2.7%
Niki and Democracy Movement (Kinima Dimokratias): 2.6%
Voice of Reason (Foni Logikis): 2.2%
New Left (Nea Aristera): 1.4%
Spartans (Spartiates): 1%
