A new opinion poll conducted by Metron Analysis for Mega TV shows the ruling party maintaining a clear lead, despite a slight dip in support compared to January.

According to the survey, New Democracy remains the dominant political force with 21.4% in voting intention, down from 22.3% previously. PASOK holds second place at 9.3%, also slipping from 9.8%.

The contest for third place has become increasingly competitive. Course of Freedom stands at 8.1%, narrowly ahead of Greek Solution at 8%. The Communist Party of Greece (KKE) follows with 6.1%, while SYRIZA continues to trail at 4%.

A significant portion of respondents — 15.2% — remain undecided or indicate they would abstain, forming what pollsters describe as a “gray zone.”

Weighted estimates

When undecided voters are redistributed to simulate a likely election outcome, New Democracy’s lead expands to 29.4%.

Under this projection:

PASOK rises to 12.7%.

Course of Freedom and Greek Solution remain close, at 11.2% and 10.9% respectively.

KKE is projected at 8.3%.

SYRIZA stands at 5.4%.

Voice of Reason reaches 4.2%.

MeRA25 records 3.3%.

Smaller parties, including Niki and New Left, each register 1.9%. The Movement for Democracy polls at 1.3%, while the Spartans stand at 0.5%. The threshold for entering Parliament is 3%.

Public ientiment and leadership ıatings

The findings reveal widespread dissatisfaction with the country’s trajectory. Sixty-eight percent of respondents believe Greece is heading in the wrong direction.

Seven in 10 participants rate the government’s performance negatively, while 68% express an unfavorable view of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Despite the low approval ratings, no opposition leader emerges as a clear alternative for the premiership. “None of the above” is the most common response (33%) when voters are asked who is most suitable to serve as prime minister. Mitsotakis follows at 26%, with other political leaders trailing in single digits.

Notably, Zoe Konstantopoulou, leader of Course of Freedom, records the highest approval rating among party leaders at 41%.

Attitudes toward potential new parties

The poll also explores public attitudes toward possible new political movements led by prominent figures, though none have formally announced plans to establish a party.

Former conservative prime minister Antonis Samaras faces skepticism, with 69% of respondents saying they are unlikely to support a party under his leadership. Similarly, 61% say they would be unlikely to back a new party led by former leftist prime minister Alexis Tsipras.

Public support also appears to be weakening for Maria Karystianou, who gained prominence while seeking accountability for victims of the 2023 Tempe rail disaster. Her negative ratings stand at 54%, compared with 38% positive.

While her appeal has declined among left- and center-leaning voters, it has risen slightly among right-wing respondents, increasing from 35% to 39% within that group.

Overall, the survey paints a picture of political fragmentation and deep public pessimism, despite the ruling party’s continued lead.
