Parliament approves defense agreements with Bulgaria and Montenegro
The Greek parliament has approved two bilateral defense agreements with Bulgaria and Montenegro aimed at strengthening military cooperation between the countries.
The agreement with Bulgaria concerns support for Greek armed forces during air and naval patrol missions, while the deal with Montenegro focuses on the mutual protection of classified military information.
Both agreements were approved by a parliamentary majority following their review by the Standing Committee on National Defense and Foreign Affairs.
The Bulgaria agreement was supported by ruling New Democracy and PASOK, while SYRIZA and Niki declared “Present.” The Communist Party of Greece, Greek Solution and Course of Freedom voted against.
The Montenegro agreement received support from New Democracy, PASOK and SYRIZA, while Greek Solution and Niki abstained. The Communist Party of Greece and Course of Freedom voted against.
