Former Ambassador, on the other hand, emphasized that the noble existential task of contemporary scientists, politicians, opinion leaders, and intellectuals is to investigate how two nations and states that share the same geography will manage and direct their relations today and in the future, and that the real test lies here.

He noted that while there are tectonic shocks and developments that create the danger of war in the global arena, it is more important and necessary for the managers, leaders, media and civil society actors of countries such as Turkey and Greece to act responsibly, prudently and prudently, without provoking and prejudiced.

Retired Turkish Ambassador Hüseyin Avni Botsalı listed the challenges in Turkish-Greek relations to MİLLET as follows:

  • How to prevent the historical traumas of the two communities and the pain in their national memories from damaging their relations,
  • What needs to be done to transform the language and culture of mutual hatred into an environment of mutual trust and a constructive climate,
  • How to prevent extremist circles and formations from abusing and escalating social sensitivities and perceptions,
  • How to prevent marginalization in terms of national identity and national memory,
  • How to resolve the contradictions between the dynamics of foreign policy and real politics and the daily reflexes and needs of domestic politics,
  • What can be done to soften the existing prejudices, conditioning and emotional reflexes of the two communities,
  • The future visions of societies, how to build common interests, especially economic interests, mutual acceptance, problem solving and the will to live with unresolved problems in these visions....

    COMMON FUTURE VISION

In response to our question: "He emphasized that those in positions of authority, decision and responsibility should be more careful, cautious, and cautious than ever before against manipulations, provocations and traps that may be directed against them, as well as under the control of heroism. In this respect, Botsalı has long-term agenda and interests in foreign policy and internal politics of daily politics. He also drew attention to the importance of separating the dynamics from each other with as clear lines as possible.

When asked how do you evaluate the Turkish-Greek relations and what are your views, Botsalı said the following:
  • "There is no other way but to build a culture of common future and coexistence on sincere and realistic parameters.
  • I think that further escalation of hostilities and tensions will not benefit anyone.
  • There is a need for softening and deescalation in the current conditions."
  • "Especially the youth must be purified and protected from the culture of enmity and hatred..!" Botsalı said, "It is possible to establish a balance of mutual and common interests between the two countries, that cooperation and partnerships compatible with the global economy will create new opportunities and synergies both at the national and regional level, and in any case, it will be necessary to make long-term investments by mobilizing national and international resources in these areas. " Ambassador Botsalı said, "In order for economic and commercial cooperation and large-scale investments for sustainable development to take place, it is essential for the parties to mutually trust and reassure each other and third parties, and that without this environment, the attention and priorities of the international financial, investment and technology circles will not be directed to the region. He said it should be kept in mind.
