Pavlopoulos, "If the Turkish army dares to touch even an inch of Greece, it will suffer the same fate as the Turkish dynasties defeated in Tripoli." said.

Former Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos said, "If the Turkish army dares to touch even an inch of Greece, it will suffer the same fate as the Turkish dynasties defeated in Tripoli."

In March 1821, a Greek rebellion broke out in the south of the Peloponnese. Insurgent gangs besieged Tripolice, which plays a strategically important role in Morea and where Turks, Greeks and Jews live together.
On September 23, 1821, civilians were massacred without discrimination between women and children. The “barbaric” massacre of tens of thousands of Turks, Jews and Albanians was known as the "Tripolice Massacre" in history.

Speaking in Peloponnese on the anniversary of the massacre, former Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos made a scandal by referring to the events in Tripolice. Pavlopoulos said, "If the Turkish army dares to touch even an inch of Greece, it will suffer the same fate as the Turkish dynasties defeated in Tripoli."

Turkish President Erdogan commemorated the victims in Tripolice on the anniversary of the massacre. President Erdoğan shared the message, "We have not forgotten the Tripolice Massacre, which took place on September 23, 1821, in which thousands of Muslim Turks, our Albanian brothers and Jews were brutally murdered, and we will not forget."
