Independent authority for public revenue to suspend tax registry digital services from March 1–10
Greece’s Independent Authority for Public Revenue (IAPR) announced a temporary suspension of its Tax Registry digital applications for individuals and businesses from March 1 through March 10, citing a system-wide update to align economic activity codes with new European statistical standards.
During the 10-day period, taxpayers will be unable to submit electronic requests related to business registrations, amendments, or cessations of activity, as well as changes to personal registry data.
Alignment With New EU Statistical Standards
According to the authority, the temporary shutdown is necessary to complete the automated matching of existing Codes of Economic Activity (KAD) with updated European statistical classifications. The process aims to ensure full harmonization and data accuracy across Greece’s tax registry system.
The migration will affect all digital Tax Registry services, resulting in a pause of online submissions between March 1 and March 10.
Services Temporarily Unavailable
The following online requests will not be accessible during the suspension period:
- Business start-up registrations
- Modifications to business details
- Business cessation filings
- Changes to personal information
- Changes of residential address
Authorities said full functionality of the digital applications will resume once the data transition is completed.
The announcement is expected to affect entrepreneurs, freelancers, and companies planning to register or modify business activity during the first ten days of March. Taxpayers are advised to plan filings accordingly to avoid delays.
