Countdown begins for PASOK leadership race
The second-round election process has been outlined in a circular issued by PASOK's Ethics, Statutes, and Certification Committee (EDEKAP). Only those who voted in the first round on October 6 will be eligible to vote in the second round on Sunday, October 13.
Voters will have the option to cast their ballot at any polling station, regardless of where they voted in the first round.
Voting will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time on Sunday, with international polling hours following the same schedule as the first round. Voters must present identification such as a police ID, passport, or new-style driver’s license. Their eligibility will be checked against the list of those who voted in the first round. If a voter cannot be found on the list, the Polling Station Chair will contact PASOK's call center for verification. No fees will be charged for voting in the second round.
In the first round of the leadership election, over 302,000 people participated, prompting voting hours to be extended by an hour due to the high turnout.
The results from the first round, in which six candidates competed, were as follows:
Nikos Andrulakis: 29.64% (89,200 votes)
Haris Dukas: 21.41% (64,490 votes)
Pavlos Yerulanos: 21.12% (63,632 votes)
Anna Diamantopulu: 19.52% (58,899 votes)
Mihalis Katrinis: 6.03% (18,163 votes)
Nadia Yannakopulu: 2.29% (6,890 votes)
The second-round election will now be a contest between Nikos Andrulakis and Haris Dukas.
