57.5% of Greeks want early elections

A new MRB poll published by Open TV on Friday reveals that a majority of citizens favor early elections amid growing public resentment over the handling of the Tempe railway disaster.
According to the survey, 57.5% of respondents believe snap elections should be called, while 36.7% oppose the idea.
The poll also assesses public sentiment regarding the government’s handling of the Tempe train disaster, with 78.5% of respondents believing the government is not doing enough to ensure full transparency, while 19.3% hold the opposite view.
Regarding voting intentions, support for the ruling New Democracy (ND) stands at 20%, followed by the socialist PASOK at 11.5%.
The populist Course of Freedom polls at 9%, while the nationalist Greek Solution follows at 8.5%.
The Communist Party (KKE) garners 6.7%, and the leftist SYRIZA is at 6%.
When excluding spoiled and blank ballots, the poll estimates the electoral result as follows:
ND 26.7% (down from 27.9% in the firm’s previous survey), PASOK 15.4% (16.4%), Course of Freedom 12% (7.4%), Greek Solution 11.4% (9.5%), KKE 9% (9.4%), SYRIZA 8% (8.4%), Voice of Reason 4.7% (8%), MeRa 25 3.1% (3.1%), Niki 3.1% (3.1%), Movement for Democracy 2.7% (4%), New Left 1.3% (1.3%), Spartans 1.3%.
