New Democracy maintains lead over Tsipras’ ELAS, poll shows
The survey shows New Democracy at 23.3%, followed by ELAS with 14.2%. PASOK ranks third with 10.3%, having been overtaken by ELAS following its launch.
New political entrants gain support
Former railway safety activist Maria Karystianou records 8.1% support with her new party, Hope for Democracy.
She is followed by Greek Solution at 6.6%, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) at 6.2%, and Course of Freedom at 3.6%. Undecided voters account for 16% of respondents.
Public dissatisfaction remains high
The poll found that 55% of respondents are “not at all satisfied” with the government’s performance. Another 22% said they are “a little satisfied,” while 22% reported being “very” or “quite” satisfied.
When asked which politician best understands society’s problems, 23% selected Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, followed by Tsipras with 12% and PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis with 7%. Nearly one-third of respondents said “none.”
ELAS seen as stronger alternative than protest movement
A quarter of respondents view ELAS as a credible alternative governing option, while 43% see it mainly as a protest vote. In contrast, only 10% regard Hope for Democracy as a potential governing force, while 52% describe it primarily as a vehicle for protest votes.
Among ELAS supporters, 42% identify as center-left and 36% as left-wing. Hope for Democracy voters show a more diverse profile, with many not identifying with a specific ideological position.
