Youth Academics Group donates wheelchairs to two members of Turkish Minority in Western Thrace
The Youth Academics Community (GAT), operating under the umbrella of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association, has donated wheelchairs to two individuals in need as part of its ongoing “12 Months, 12 Happinesses” social responsibility project.
In a statement, GAT said the donation represented not only practical assistance but also a meaningful expression of social solidarity and community support.
“Being able to touch someone’s life, make their daily routine a little easier and offer hope is one of the most valuable examples of social solidarity,” the group said.
The organization noted that the wheelchairs were intended to improve the recipients’ mobility and independence while demonstrating that the community stands alongside them in their daily lives.
Ongoing social support initiative
GAT said it plans to continue social assistance and solidarity activities throughout the year under the “12 Months, 12 Happinesses” project, which aims to support individuals and families facing various challenges.
The group also thanked volunteers and donors whose contributions made the latest initiative possible.
The project has become one of several community-driven efforts in Western Thrace focused on strengthening social cohesion and providing assistance to vulnerable members of society.
