Youth festival in nature brings together hundreds in Karasu, Western Thrace
Operating under the umbrella of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association, the Young Academics Community brought together young people, community representatives, and local institutions for a day focused on solidarity, social interaction, and youth engagement.
The open-air event featured a variety of cultural and recreational activities throughout the day, allowing participants to connect with nature while strengthening social ties within the Turkish Muslim minority community in Western Thrace.
Organizers emphasized the importance of youth participation, collective values, and social unity, while also underlining the significance of republican ideals and the role of young generations in shaping the future of society.
One of the highlights of the festival was the live performance by Murat Duban, whose music created an energetic atmosphere for attendees.
In a statement released after the event, the Young Academics Community thanked all institutions, guests, and volunteers who contributed to the successful organization of the festival.
“We thank all institutions and organizations for their support and all guests for their participation. We hope our unity and solidarity will continue, and we look forward to meeting again at future events,” the statement read.
The festival was attended by Aykut Ünal and his wife İlayda Ünal, Rhodope MP Özgür Ferhat, Zeynep Tevfikoğlu, representatives of minority institutions, and a large number of young participants.
Organizers noted that the event is planned to continue as an annual tradition aimed at strengthening social bonds among youth and encouraging engagement around shared cultural and community values.
