Ramadan Iftar gathering unites community in Demircik Village

Residents and guests gathered for a traditional Ramadan iftar in Demircik, one of the most remote villages of the Mustafçova Municipality in İskeçe, bringing the local community together around a shared table during the holy month.

The iftar event took place on the evening of March 14 at the Demircik village mosque and was organized by the Demircik Education and Culture Association. Villagers and guests showed strong interest in the gathering, which reflected the spirit of unity, solidarity and sharing that characterizes Ramadan.

Participants broke their fast together following the evening call to prayer, creating a warm atmosphere of community and spiritual reflection.

Local Leaders and Officials Attend
The iftar was attended by several prominent figures from the Turkish Muslim community in Western Thrace, including Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of İskeçe and Chairman of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board.

Other attendees included Huseyin Zeybek, a member of the Hellenic Parliament representing the New Left Party, Burhan Baran, an independent MP from İskeçe, Ahmet Kurt, Mayor of Miki Municipality, and Bahri Belço, Vice President of the Friendship Equality Peace Party.

Former Miki Mayor Cemil Kabza and regional council member Salih Yörük were also among the attendees, along with many local residents.

Emphasis on Community Solidarity
During the program, Mufti Mustafa Trampa thanked the organizers and members of the association for their efforts in arranging the iftar gathering.

In a social media message following the event, he expressed appreciation to the villagers, the mosque trustee board and the organizers for their hospitality, noting that the gathering provided an opportunity to meet with community members in a warm and spiritual atmosphere.

The event once again highlighted the values of solidarity, unity and generosity that define the Ramadan tradition in Western Thrace.
