Hüseyin Zeybek submits parliamentary question on delayed Ketenlik Road Project
In a parliamentary question addressed to the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Zeybek drew attention to what he described as the unjustified delay of the Ketenlik road project, stressing its vital importance for safety, accessibility, and everyday life in the village.
According to information included in the parliamentary submission, the road—providing access to the sports field, cemetery, livestock facilities, and enabling the passage of emergency vehicles—was included in the Public Investment Program following a protocol signed in 2019 between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Mustafçova Municipality.
A budget of €2.1 million was allocated for the project, and all administrative and technical preparations were reportedly completed.
However, more than six years later, the project has still not been implemented. Zeybek underlined that during this period, no official explanation has been provided by the Ministry to either the public or local residents regarding the reasons for the delay. He also noted that occasional statements claiming that “funding has been secured” or that the “project is being relaunched” have caused public confusion, emphasizing that the financing has, in fact, been available since 2019.
In his parliamentary question, Zeybek asked the Ministry to clarify:
- What is the current status of the project, and what are the reasons it has not been implemented to date?
- Is the approved €2.1 million budget still reserved specifically for this project?
- Is there a concrete timetable for launching the tender and starting construction works?
- What measures will be taken to prevent further delays?
Concluding his statement, Zeybek said that the prolonged postponement of a project critical to road and public safety amounts to administrative failure and neglect of public service, calling on the Ministry to provide clear answers and a binding implementation schedule to the public.
