Gümülcine Municipality issues warning against fraud

On Friday, August 9, a person posing as an employee of the Financial Services Department tried to deceive a supplier by claiming that a "correction of an error" was needed regarding a payment made by the municipality. The fraudster contacted the supplier by phone, attempting to extort money under this pretext.

The municipality clarified in its statement that this is a clear case of fraud. They urged all suppliers and citizens to be vigilant and to reject any demands for repayments based on such claims. The municipality emphasized that any legitimate communication from the Financial Services Department would not involve requests for such payments.
