Waters not calming down in SYRIZA

The Political Secretariat meeting held yesterday (Wednesday 29 November) in the SYRIZA Party, which has been shaken by internal debates and resignations recently, caused new discussions. While the meeting, which was held to determine the situation caused by the resignations from the party and the road map to be followed against this, Dionisis Temponeras, known for his critical point of view towards the party administration and the president, took the floor. The president of the SYRIZA Party, Kasselakis, left the hall during Temponeras' speech, creating a "cold shower" effect. This action of Kasselakis was characterised as "disrespect" and "insult to the speaker" by the internal party opposition. Some of the staff members who saw Kasselakis leave the meeting expressed their discomfort with this behaviour of the president and gave up making a speech.

Temponeras said in his speech that the party was organisationally and ideologically backward and that there was no serious planning.

It was stated that this move of the party president Kasselakis would lead to new discussions within SIRIZA.
