SYRIZA lawmaker Katerina Notopoulou has resigned from the Hellenic Parliament, becoming the latest member of the opposition party to step down amid ongoing political realignment within Greece's center-left.
SYRIZA MP Katerina Notopoulou resigns from Parliament

Notopoulou submitted her resignation to Parliament Speaker Nikitas Kaklamanis after informing SYRIZA leader Sokratis Famellos of her decision. She described the move as both a personal and political decision, saying that remaining in the party no longer reflected her political convictions.

Shortly after announcing her resignation, Notopoulou expressed support for former Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and his newly established Greek Left Alliance (ELAS), arguing that the initiative could offer a new direction for Greece's progressive political movement.

Her resignation follows a series of departures from SYRIZA in recent months, highlighting the continued fragmentation of Greece's left-wing political landscape.
