The fight in the main opposition SYRIZA Party flared up again. The internal strife in the party, which started after the election of Stefanos Kasselakis as the president and reached its peak with his statements, resulted in the resignation of a large number of SYRIZA executives, members and 11 MPs. While those who left SYRIZA gathered under the umbrella of the New Left Party, a new statement made by Kasselakis in the past days caused the intra-party discussions to start again.
The struggle in SYRIZA flares up again

Kasselakis' statements in the past that political parties in the country, including SYRIZA, were managed with black money disturbed many party staff. A joint statement was issued by 87 party members, including important figures of the party and current MPs. The statement criticised the policies of Kasselakis, the leader of SYRIZA, and also touched upon the issue of cooperation on the left.

Meanwhile, the president of SYRIZA Kasselakis targeted the former president of the party Alexis Tsipras in his post last night. It was stated that the post was deleted first and the post was corrected in a short time and the post was made again. In his post, Kasselakis called on Tsipras, "Either come and take responsibility, if you don't want this, support me."

Kasselakis included the following statements in his post for Alexis Tsipras: "Come and take responsibility. I will be your soldier in this endeavour without undermining you for a moment. But if you don't want this, come without games and support me in my endeavour for our party." Kasselakis' post concluded as follows: "I would rather be a soldier in the fight for a better Greece than a general in the intra-party war. Alexi, are you in?"
