The ballot box of June 25 hid several surprises

The ballot box of June 25 hid several surprises. And this is because several former MPs and top-ranking party officials did not manage to cross the threshold of the Parliament.

The blue camp has 158 MPs, but among those who will sit in the blue seats will not be Fotini Pipili, Angelos Syrigos, Giorgos Koumoutsakos and Aria Agatsa.

The same applies to Maria Sirengela, Anastasios Gaitanis and Ioanna Gelestathi.

The further reduction of SYRIZA's percentages compared to the May 21 elections resulted in Koumoundourou losing 23 seats. That is, to fall from the 71 seats it had on May 21 to 48, but also to fail to elect a member of parliament in 23 electoral prefectures.

The one seat that SYRIZA loses in the state closed the entrance door to the Parliament for the representative of the party, Popi Tsapanidou.

Nikos Voutsis, Marliza Xenogiannakopoulou and George Tsipras also remained outside the Parliament. Rena Dourou will wait for Alexis Tsipras' decision on which seat she will hold.

If the president of SYRIZA keeps the seat in the Western sector of Athens, then Ms. Dourou will be out of Parliament.

Giannis Dragasakis, Giannis Ragoussis, Christos Spirtzis and Giannis Mouzalas will not be on the seats of the official opposition. The decision of Alexis Tsipras is also waiting for Theodoros Dritsas. If Mr. Tsipras keeps the seat in A' Piraeus, then Mr. Dritsas will be out of Parliament.

Yannis Amanatidis was also left out of Parliament as SYRIZA won one less seat in A' Thessaloniki. Nikos Filis, as well as Panos Skourletis, remained outside the Parliament.

Losses, but clearly smaller than those of SYRIZA, are recorded by PASOK, which, although it increased its percentages, saw its seats decrease from 41 in May to 32.

The historic member of PASOK Kostas Skandalidis and Andreas Loverdos will not pass the threshold of the Parliament either this time, while Pavlos Christidis will enter the Parliament only if Nikos Androulakis does not keep the seat in the South sector of Athens.

PASOK also lost seats in B' Thessaloniki, Karditsa, Corinthia, Messinia in Serres, Trikala and Fthiotida.

The swearing-in of the new MPs will take place next Monday, July 3.
