Poll: ND leads with 30%, PASOK, Plefsi Eleftherias compete for second place

In the latest national poll conducted by GPO, the ruling New Democracy (ND) party maintains a clear lead, while PASOK and Plefsi Eleftherias (Course of Freedom) are locked in a tight contest for second place.
When adjusted to valid ballots, ND leads with 30.3%, followed by PASOK at 14.7% and Plefsi Eleftherias at 14.6% — a near tie that places the left-wing party just behind the center-left. Greek Solution follows with 10.8%, KKE at 8.4%, SYRIZA trails at 6.1%, and the Voice of Reason gathers 3.5%.
Despite its lead, the government faces strong public discontent. 67% of respondents rate its overall performance negatively, while only 32.9% express a positive view. The most pressing areas of concern include:
Inflation: only 14.2% approval
Combating crime: 17.6%
Tax policy: 23%
Migration management: 23.4%
Justice system: 23.8%
The survey also indicates economic pessimism: 50.4% of Greeks report a worsening financial situation, while 42.4% say their circumstances remain unchanged. Only 15.1% see any economic improvement.
However, the government earns relatively high marks in:
Digital transformation: 57.4%
National defense: 48.3%
Attracting foreign investment: 38.5%
Foreign policy: 36.3%
In terms of leadership, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis remains the most popular choice for the premiership, with 27.2% of respondents backing him as the most suitable leader.
The poll reflects both the resilience of ND’s political base and growing fragmentation in the opposition, as well as mounting concerns over the economy and everyday security.
