Mitsotakis, Bahrain king discuss regional security in Athens
Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa discussed regional developments, security issues and ways to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation during talks in Athens on Friday.
According to a statement from Mitsotakis’s office, the two leaders placed particular emphasis on investment, with the Greek prime minister highlighting the importance of expanding economic ties between the two countries.
Mitsotakis said at the start of the meeting that there were many issues to discuss concerning developments in the region.
He also stressed Greece’s interest in strengthening relations with Bahrain and increasing investments between the two countries.
Mitsotakis said bilateral relations had advanced in recent years but that there was further scope for cooperation, particularly in the investment sector.
Greece has presented its regional approach as focused on stability and dialogue while maintaining close relations with countries across the Gulf and the wider region.
