Mainas: Komotini Municipality's debts threaten schools with power cuts

In a statement on the subject, Mainas, the main opposition Joint Vision councilor, stated:

"While Dimitris Politiadis, Vice President of Economy, was happy that the largest budget in the history of Komotini Municipality was approved by the Economic Commission, officials from the electricity department visited Küçükköy (Kosmio) Primary School to cut off the electricity due to the municipality's debts.

I had mentioned that there was an unpaid bill of hundreds of thousands of euros for schools to the Public Energy Company (DEI) during the term of the Mayor of Komotini Municipality, Yannis Garanis, and I disclosed this to the public.

As the school principals have told us, similar incidents have happened many times in the last months, but the municipality continues to fail to pay the debts.

We repeat the question to Mr. Garanis and Mr. Politiadis: Do the debts of the Municipality of Komotini "threat" schools with power cuts?
