Greece delays defense cooperation with Israel amid Gaza conflict

The newspaper claimed that cooperation between Athens and Tel Aviv on several defense programs has been delayed as a result of developments in the Middle East. Among the systems affected are the PULS multiple rocket launchers, which Greece was expected to acquire from Israel.

The report further noted that Greece is interested in a defense package worth around €700 million, including the acquisition of “Accular 160 mm,” “EXTRA,” and “Predator Hawk” missiles. The agreement is said to include joint production on Greek territory.

However, analysts cited by Kathimerini argued that Athens is reluctant to appear involved in the production of offensive weapons while the Gaza conflict continues, leading to a delay in procurement.
