Crisis deepens in Karystianou’s party as three more members leave

Actress Katerina Moutsatsou, along with party members Maria Ioannidou and Dimitris Kotsorgios, have departed from the movement, adding to the growing uncertainty surrounding the organization’s internal cohesion.

Moutsatsou, who had been involved in the party’s Culture Group, announced her departure while expressing gratitude toward the movement. In contrast, Kotsorgios criticized what he described as a lack of dialogue, collective decision-making, and democratic processes within the political group.

In his statement announcing his withdrawal, Kotsorgios said he was leaving due to disagreements over fundamental political issues and claimed that, in his view, the movement had moved away from the principles it had publicly promoted, including democracy, transparency, and accountability.

The latest departures come shortly after the expulsion of former party spokesperson Thanasis Avgerinos, further intensifying debates over the internal structure and future direction of the movement led by Maria Karystianou.

The developments have raised questions about the stability of “Hope for Democracy” as the party faces increasing internal criticism and organizational challenges.
