200 thousand people to be employed with the new programs

The Public Employment Agency (DYPA) and the Ministry of Labor launched programs covering the employment of more than 200 thousand unemployed in order to reduce unemployment below 10% in 2024.

The new programs will be funded by the Recovery Fund (Ταμείο Ανάκαμψης) and the new ESPA.

The distribution of 200 people to be employed according to the programs will be as follows.

1- 68 thousand people will be recruited with the Recovery Fund. 30 thousand of these are businesses that were opened in December, which interest both young and old.

More specifically;

-10 thousand job positions concern unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 30 who have at least compulsory education registered with the Public Employment Agency (DYPA) in order to gain work experience.

The budget allocated for the unemployed to be employed is 68 million euros and will be financed by the Recovery Fund.

It is aimed at private companies, institutions and organizations, government companies and first and second degree Local Government Organizations (OTA) companies.

- 10 thousand job positions concern the unemployed, aged 45 and over, who have been away from the labor market for a long time and live in regions with high unemployment, which makes it difficult for them to reintegrate into society.

The budget allocated for the unemployed to be employed is 119.7 million euros and will be financed by the Recovery Fund. This program aims to strengthen the employment of the long-term unemployed.

- 10 thousand job positions are planned to be used to reintegrate the unemployed into the labor market.

The budget allocated for the unemployed to be employed will be 112.3 million euros and will be financed by the Recovery Fund. This program will be implemented in two phases.

In the first phase, 7,000 jobs will be created. These will be unemployed mothers who have returned to the labor market after raising their children, those who are unemployed for more than 24 months, those over 55 who are unemployed for more than 12 months, people with very low education levels, members of single-parent families and Roma.

2- 38 thousand job positions until May

The employment of 38,000 people will be related to programs that emphasize women and the green economy.

These will be piloted in cities with high unemployment rates and economies in transition.

A program is planned in which financial support will be over 60-65% for the unemployed between the ages of 25-45, while the support will reach 80% for groups that face greater barriers to finding a job.

3- 111,000 job positions with the ESPA program

The budget allocated for 111 thousand unemployed to be employed will be financed from the Development Fund and the new ESPA program.

The program, which will include new actions, counseling and training, will be aimed at women, youth and the long-term unemployed.

These programs, which will provide job opportunities for 111 thousand people, will start after the spring and will highlight entrepreneurship in the digital economy as well as in the green and blue (shipping and shipyards) economy.
