Greece’s unemployment rate stood at 8.5% in February 2026, down from a revised 9.2% in February 2025, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) reported.

The total number of unemployed was 410,506, a 6.1% decrease compared to February 2025, though up 8.6% from January 2026. Unemployment for women fell to 11.3% from 11.9% last year, while for men it dropped to 6.2% from 7.1%.

By age group, the 15-24 cohort had an unemployment rate of 17.6%, slightly down from 17.8% a year earlier, and the 25-74 group fell to 8% from 8.8%.

Employment rose to 4,412,218, up 2.8% year-on-year and 0.2% month-on-month. Meanwhile, the number of people outside the labor force declined to 2,906,805, marking decreases of 4% compared with February 2025 and 1.5% from January 2026.
