Youth entrepreneurship support program officially launched
The electronic submission platform went live on Wednesday and will remain open for one month, with the deadline set for March 18.
Labor and Social Security Minister Niki Kerameus highlighted the positive trajectory of the labor market, noting that unemployment has fallen to 7.5 percent — the second lowest rate recorded in Greece’s history and the lowest level seen in the past 18 years.
“Despite this significant progress, there are still areas where further improvement is needed, particularly among young people and women,” she stated. “In this context, the Ministry of Labor, through the Public Employment Service (DYPA), is launching a targeted program to support youth entrepreneurship for unemployed individuals aged 18 to 29, with a special focus on women and on initiatives linked to the digital and green economy.”
Kerameus emphasized that women often face greater obstacles in accessing the labor market, underlining the government’s commitment to fostering equal opportunities.
“For this reason, we are systematically working to create an environment that promotes equal opportunity, encourages initiative, and supports individual effort,” she added.
