Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) in Turkey organized an iftar program in the village of Ribnovo, where Muslims live heavily, in southwest Bulgaria.
YTB President Abdullah Eren, in his speech at the fast-breaking dinner, said, “We work by saying that wherever we have a kin, wherever we have a relative, we are there. Do not forget that if the wind blows here, we are cold in Turkey. If you grieve here, we grieve in Turkey. If you laugh here, we are happy in Turkey.”
"I AM ONE OF YOU TOO"
“We are together in such a fertile month, such a blessed time due to Ramadan,” Eren said and talked about the fact that he has a personal emotional connection with the Rhodope Mountains.

Eren said:
“I am one of you too. The village where my father was born is right behind the Rhodope Mountains, a village in Gümülcine (Komotini), currently in Greece. I see each of you as my own brother, my own uncle, my own elder, as my own aunt. That's why I want to express that I am very happy to be in this village.”
Stating that Turkey Scholarships contribute to the whole world and its sister geographies, "From now on, we expect many more applications for Türkiye Scholarships from Bulgaria and Ribnovo. YTB will continue to be by your side with its educational and cultural activities and to contribute to Turkey-Bulgaria relations,” he said.
Mustafa Aliş Haci, the Chief Mufti of the Bulgarian Muslims Religious Affairs, emphasized that as long as Turkey exists, they will also stand. Haji said:
“We are really experiencing a different beauty tonight. I would like to thank the Presidency of YTB. They are the reason we are here tonight. Indeed, the Muslims in this village struggled a lot during the communist era (which ended in 1989). Although the Bulgarian state tried to assimilate them, they did not give in, they remained standing. If we can still see these beauties today, it was of course possible thanks to their work. As Muslims, they trusted Allah above all else. After that, they trusted Turkey. Thank God, Turkey did not abandon them.”
"WE WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU"
Turkey's Ambassador to Sofia, Aylin Sekizkök, stated that she brought Turkey's greetings to the participants of the program and said, "I brought the heartfelt greetings of our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Turkey loves you very much”.
Sekizkök continued her words as follows:
“You have kept this beautiful religion alive in this beautiful village for centuries, in this beautiful village where the call to prayer is heard on the minarets. You have preserved your identity, despite all the difficulties. We will always be by your side and we will continue to fly like an eagle before your head from now on.”
In Ribnovo, one of the most populated villages where Turks live in Bulgaria, approximately 2,000 people attended the iftar program organized by YTB.
