YTB President Eren’s message for “Türkan Bebek”

YTB President Eren commemorated the 18-month-old martyr “Türkan Bebek”, the symbol of the Turkish and Islamic struggle against the assimilation policies of the communist regime in Bulgaria.
Türkan Feyzullah (April 24, 1983-December 26, 1984), who was shot dead in her mother's arms at the age of 17 months, by Bulgarian soldiers during the protest march held in Mogilyane village of Kırkova district of Kırcaali on December 26, 1984 against the forced assimilation attempt implemented in Bulgaria, is commemorated in Türkiye.
Due to the 38th anniversary of the assimilation, the ceremony held in the park named “Türkan Bebek” in the region called the Old Migrant Houses by the Thrace Balkan Turks Culture and Solidarity Association took place this year with intense participation.
President of Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) Abdullah Eren also did not forget the 18-month-old martyr Türkan Bebek, the symbol of the struggle for Turkishness and Islam against the assimilation policies of the communist regime in Bulgaria. President shared a post on the social media on the anniversary of Türkan Bebek's martyrdom.
President Eren made the following statements on the subject in his post on his Twitter account:
"#TürkanBebek was an 18-month-old martyr of the Turkish and Islamic struggle against the assimilation policies of the communist regime in Bulgaria. She was in her mother's arms while her tiny body was the target of bullets...We commemorate all our compatriots who did not give up their identity at the cost of their lives."
