YTB delegation pays official visit to the Chief Mufti’s Office of Bulgaria
A delegation from the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), headed by Zülgayip Akuş, Director of the Department of Cultural and Social Relations, paid an official visit to the Office of the Chief Mufti of Bulgaria. The meeting focused on evaluating current relations between the two institutions and exploring future cooperation opportunities.
The delegation was received by Chief Mufti Dr. Mustafa Haci, Chairman of the High Islamic Council Vedat Ahmed, and Deputy Chief Muftis Ahmed Hasanov and Beyhan Mehmed. During the talks, both sides expressed their satisfaction with the longstanding positive relations and constructive dialogue.
New Cooperation in Education and Social Projects
The meeting primarily centered on joint initiatives in the field of education. Detailed assessments were made regarding the educational needs of the Muslim community in Bulgaria, religious services, youth activities, and efforts to strengthen cooperation on social projects.
Representatives from both institutions agreed to launch new joint projects in areas such as imam-hatip education, student exchange programs, cultural initiatives, summer courses, and youth activities. Long-term cooperation frameworks aimed at preserving and supporting the community’s religious and cultural identity were also discussed.
Mutual Appreciation and Continued Dialogue
The meeting concluded with mutual expressions of goodwill and a shared commitment to further enhancing cooperation. Both sides emphasized the continuation of joint efforts to support Bulgaria’s Muslim community.
