The Union of Minority School Committees of Western Thrace has issued a written statement emphasizing the vital role of Minority schools in preserving language, religion, and cultural identity. The statement comes ahead of the registration period, which begins on June 10, for the Celal Bayar Minority Secondary and High School in Komotini and the Xanthi Minority Secondary and High School.
In the statement, the Union called on all community members to actively support these key educational institutions:
“Dear Committee Members, esteemed parents, and our children who represent the future,
As we approach the start of secondary school registration, we would like to highlight the crucial importance of our Minority schools. Registrations for the Celal Bayar Minority Secondary and High School in Komotini and the Xanthi Minority Secondary and High School will officially begin on June 10.
It is imperative that we all make a concerted effort to support and preserve our schools. We warmly invite all students graduating from primary schools to enroll in our Minority secondary schools. We must embrace these institutions with a full commitment, so that future generations can grow up rooted in our language, our faith, and our unique cultural heritage.
These distinguished schools have played a pivotal role in educating many generations and will continue to do so in the years ahead. The achievements, activities, and accolades earned by our students have filled us with pride and emotion. We look forward to welcoming all students who aspire to be part of this ongoing legacy of success, with great joy and anticipation throughout the enrollment period.”
The Union concluded by reaffirming its dedication to sustaining the Minority school system and ensuring that future generations remain connected to their identity through quality education.
