Tapatzas inspects Maronya - Dikilitas road works

Tapacas, who closely inspected the improvement works of the coastal road Maronya - Tashlik, was accompanied by Stamatis Ktenas, representative of the contractor company Ergabeton ABETETH and Civil Engineer Apostolos Tzemidibi from the Department of Technical Works of the Rhodope Province.
"The road, which will connect the coastline of the Rhodope and Evros regional units, is progressing at the pace required by respect for the rich natural environment and the archaeological character of the region. We continue the implementation of one of the most important projects in the Rhodope region, taking care of the archaeological findings uncovered during the execution of the works and respecting the protection of the environment."
Tapacas said that the road from Maronya to Dikilitaş will facilitate access to the coastline and emphasised that the promotion of the region, which is interesting in terms of archaeological and natural beauties, will contribute to the tourism of the region.
With a total length of 14.6 kilometres, the road starts south of Maronia and ends on the existing road to Dikilitas and Miri.
The road, which is 6.5 metres wide, is adjusted according to the existing conditions where archaeological finds are located.
Until 28 June 2025, on the basis of the third extension granted, the road works are being closely supervised by the forestry, archaeological and technical services of the Rhodope region.
