Maronia-Sapçı Municipality holds meeting to support local economy
Apostolos Ioannou, Mayor of Maronia-Sapçı, held a meeting with the Sapçı Association of Tradesmen and Craftsmen on Monday, January 27, 2025, at the Sapçı Municipal Building. The discussion focused on addressing issues affecting the region's trade sector and exploring solutions to strengthen the local economy.
During the meeting, challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which form the backbone of the local economy, were brought to the table. Mayor Ioannou emphasized the importance of improving access to financing, offering incentives for new investments, and implementing training programs to enhance entrepreneurial skills.
Discussions also covered strategies for promoting and marketing local products. Proposals included developing marketing strategies to establish a strong regional identity, organizing fairs and festivals to promote local goods domestically and internationally, and increasing collaboration with the tourism sector.
The Maronia-Sapçı Municipality reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the local economy and pledged to maintain close cooperation with the business community to ensure the region's sustainable development.
