Dedeağaç (Alexandroupoli) municipality collects used bicycles for children in need

The Municipality of Dedeağaç (Alexandroupoli) is once again collecting used bicycles for children from families who cannot afford to buy them, as part of this year's European Mobility Week.

The initiative aims to give unused children's bicycles a new purpose while providing children with an opportunity for mobility, recreation and greater independence.

BICYCLES TO BE REPAIRED AND DONATED
Under the initiative, residents are encouraged to donate children's bicycles that are no longer being used.

The municipality will repair the bicycles where necessary before donating them to families who do not have the financial means to provide their children with one.

Adults can also participate by donating bicycles they no longer use, including bicycles that have been replaced with newer models.

The municipality is encouraging families and children to contribute to the initiative as part of a broader effort to promote solidarity and community support.

COLLECTION POINT AT CITY HALL
Bicycles have been accepted from Wednesday, September 16, at the Public Relations Office on the ground floor of Dedeağaç City Hall.

Donations can be made between 09:00 and 15:00.

The municipality is calling on residents to contribute unused bicycles and help provide children in need with an opportunity to enjoy cycling.

The initiative forms part of activities marking European Mobility Week, which promotes more sustainable and inclusive forms of mobility across Europe.
