Swimming banned on some beaches in Alexandroupoli
Vangelis Pulilios, Regional Vice President for Evros Province of the Presidency of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (EMT), has imposed a swimming ban on some beaches in Alexandroupoli.
It was reported that the ban was imposed as a result of the controls carried out on the beaches in the region on Thursday, July 25, in the presence of Alexandroupoli Municipality units, taking into account the sudden weather conditions that have changed in recent days.
The beaches in Alexandroupoli where the swimming ban was imposed are listed as follows:
1. Alexandroupolis Municipality campground
2. 'Delfini' swimming beach
3. 'Kalamaki' swimming beach
4. 'Agia Paraskevi' swimming beach
On the other hand, it was noted that the teams of the Public Health Unit of Alexandroupolis Municipality will examine the situation on the beaches, take samples, monitor the water quality of the beaches where swimming is allowed and the results will be announced to the public.
It was stated that the ban on swimming is temporary and if it is allowed, the ban will be canceled with a new decision.
